Baby care

When caring for baby bunnies, keeping the nest box clean and dry is very important. I make it a habit to gently check the nesting area to make sure there is nothing wet, dirty, or soiled that could make the babies uncomfortable or lead to health problems. Any damp or dirty bedding should be removed right away, while still trying to keep as much of the clean, dry nesting material as possible.I also like to save some of the dry fur and clean bedding that mom has already pulled and used for the nest, so the babies still have familiar warmth and scent around them. While I clean the nest box, I carefully place the babies into a small temporary nest with some of their clean nesting material, then put them back as soon as everything is fresh and ready. This helps keep stress to a minimum while making sure they stay warm, safe, and comfortable.
